From the orphanage in Seoul, South Korea, which I stayed from December 1980 to March 1981.
Since I decided to be so open about most things, I have made myself open to a lot of questions, most I have no problems answering, some I don´t wanna answer and some I don´t know how to answer. But some I get a lot is, how I found my Korean mom, sister, and brother?
I didn´t find them. I started the search. But in the end, it was my sister who found me, after our Korean mom (Oma) told her about me. The timing was amazing thou; it was shortly after my Korean name plus Oma´s name was mentioned in a Korean newspaper, where I was searching for her.
From the Korean Newspaper
I got the call on my phone 10 pm a Saturday evening when Jani and I was having our anniversary dinner, and I think I had 5-6 glasses of wine before, we had a lovely tasting menu) and the Korean girl, who had helped me in the search for Oma, called me, telling me that she think my sister had contacted me.
Tasting menu and 6-7 glass of wine is not the best before talking with you Korean mom after 36 years. But amazing dinner thou:)
My drunk brain didn't get it. I have never known about a sister. But we hurried back to our hotel from the restaurant, where I stared video chatting with my Korean Mom and Sister. I think we talked about 1 1/2 hour, I wish I could remember a lot of the conversation, but I guess I was to drunk. However my husband who don´t drink, remember every bit, so next day he starts telling me.
Me outside the orphanage, ready to get a new family.
